Disney World Memory Maker options
The $25 advance discount comes with a waiting-period rule, so the cheapest option is not always the right option for a last-minute purchase.
| Option | Current price | Coverage window | Important rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Memory Maker – advance purchase | $185 | 30 days after activation | Must wait at least 3 days after purchase before the Memory Maker window can begin; earlier unexpired photos are not included |
| Memory Maker – regular price | $210 | 30 days after activation | No 3-day waiting period; unexpired PhotoPass content already in the account can be included when linked |
| Memory Maker One Day | $85 | 6:00 AM selected day to 5:59 AM next day | Best when only one day needs all-photo downloads |
| Annual Pass PhotoPass Downloads add-on | $109 plus tax for the year | While the Annual Pass is valid for admission, subject to Disney's terms | Worth comparing before buying repeated Memory Maker packages if you are an Annual Passholder |
| 2026 eligible U.S. military Memory Maker | $98 through Dec. 18, 2026 | Standard Memory Maker terms apply | Special product is limited to eligible Service Members or spouse and must be purchased at Disney theme-park ticket windows |
Which Memory Maker option would I choose?
| Trip | Start here | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-day family trip, photos matter | $185 advance Memory Maker | Lowest standard-trip price when you can buy at least 3 days early and will use PhotoPass repeatedly |
| Trip starts in less than 3 days | $210 regular Memory Maker | No waiting period and it can include current unexpired PhotoPass content already linked |
| One birthday / proposal / character-heavy day | $85 Memory Maker One Day | Avoid paying for a 30-day package when only one day is photo-focused |
| Annual Passholder visiting repeatedly | Compare $109 annual PhotoPass Downloads add-on | Annual coverage can beat repeated trip-by-trip purchases |
| Rarely stop for PhotoPass photographers | Skip or buy individual photos | Memory Maker only creates value when you actually generate photos |
| Large connected family / friend group | One standard Memory Maker can be enough | The linked Memory Maker Guest can view and download shared eligible content from up to 25 Family & Friends during the window |

PhotoPass and Memory Maker are not the same thing
Disney PhotoPass is the photography system and photographers. Anyone can have PhotoPass photos taken. Memory Maker is the paid entitlement that unlocks eligible digital downloads during its coverage window.
Why the advance Memory Maker price has a catch
The $185 advance product saves $25, but Disney's terms require at least 3 days between purchase and the beginning of the Memory Maker window. Photos captured during that waiting period are not retroactively included in the advance purchase.
When the $210 regular version can be smarter
The regular-price Memory Maker has no waiting period. Disney's terms also say it can include unexpired PhotoPass content already in the account when the product is linked. If a trip has already started or starts in less than 3 days, paying $25 more can be more useful than buying the cheaper product too late.
How long does standard Memory Maker last?
Standard Memory Maker uses a 30-day window. For the advance product, the window begins when the Guest first downloads or unlocks eligible content after the waiting period. The terms describe the window as ending on the 30th day following that first unlock or download.
How does Memory Maker One Day work?
Memory Maker One Day currently costs $85. Disney defines the one-day window as 6:00 AM Eastern on the selected date through 5:59 AM the following morning. It is a strong fit when one park day contains most of the photos you care about.
What photos and videos are included?
Disney currently advertises PhotoPass at more than 175 locations, photos on 15 attractions, videos on three and PhotoPass coverage at more than 40 Character Experiences. Memory Maker can include professional park photos, Magic Shots and the eligible attraction media linked to the account.
Attraction photos need the technology to link correctly
Disney notes that a MagicBand or an eligible mobile device with Bluetooth enabled may be required for certain attraction photos and other digital content. If ride photos matter, make sure the My Disney Experience app has the permissions it needs before the trip.
PhotoPass Lenses are a separate product
Do not assume every PhotoPass-branded feature is part of Memory Maker. Disney specifically says its PhotoPass Lenses are not included with Memory Maker or Memory Maker One Day.
Annual Passholders should compare the annual add-on
Disney currently lists a PhotoPass Downloads add-on for Annual Passholders at $109 plus tax for the year. If you make several trips, compare that with buying Memory Maker repeatedly.
Eligible military travelers have a 2026 special price
Disney currently offers eligible U.S. Service Members or their spouse a $98 Memory Maker product through December 18, 2026. Disney says the specially priced product must be purchased at Walt Disney World theme-park ticket windows and is subject to the program's eligibility limits.
Who gets the most value
Memory Maker is easiest to justify when a family wants everyone in the photos, the group will stop for photographers repeatedly, character photos matter, or attraction photos are part of the souvenir. The fixed price becomes more reasonable as the number of genuinely wanted photos rises.
Who should probably skip it
If you rarely stop for PhotoPass photographers, mostly want your own phone photos or only care about one or two images, the full multi-day product can be overkill. One Day or individual-photo purchases may fit better.
Use it deliberately if you buy it
Do not buy Memory Maker and then walk past every photographer. Stop at park icons, take photos at different times of day, use character opportunities and check the gallery while the trip is still active so missing media can be addressed while the details are fresh.
Download before the PhotoPass content expires
Memory Maker does not permanently archive photos for you. Disney's terms require the content to be downloaded before the underlying PhotoPass media expires. Save the final files somewhere you control rather than treating the app gallery as long-term storage.
