Disney Dining Plans: 2026 vs. 2027
Credits are issued based on the number of nights in the Disney Resort package. They can be used throughout the stay and unused credits expire at midnight on checkout day.
| Plan | Year | Table-service / night | Quick-service / night | Snacks / night | Resort mug |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan | 2026 | 0 | 2 | 1 | Included |
| Disney Dining Plan | 2026 | 1 | 1 | 1 | Included |
| Quick-Service Dining Plan | 2027 | 0 | 2 | 1 | Included |
| Table-Service Dining Plan | 2027 | 1 | 1 | 1 | Included |
| Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan | 2027 | 2 | 1 | 1 | Included |
Which Disney Dining Plan makes sense?
The plan is most useful when its credit mix already resembles how you would eat without it. Do not redesign the vacation just to use prepaid credits.
| Travel style | Plan I'd start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Mostly counter-service meals | Quick-Service | Two quick-service meals per night without tying the day to reservations |
| One sit-down meal most days | 2026 Disney Dining Plan / 2027 Table-Service | The 1 table-service + 1 quick-service structure matches a common park-day pattern |
| Dining is a major part of the trip | 2027 Deluxe Table-Service | Two table-service credits per night gives much more room for sit-down meals and eligible higher-credit experiences |
| Very flexible eaters who dislike reservations | No plan or Quick-Service | Prepaying table-service meals can create pressure to book around food |
| Families traveling in 2026 with children 3–9 | Compare the 2026 package carefully | Disney currently offers a free child dining plan with an eligible package when plans are purchased for Guests age 10+ |
| Families traveling in 2027 with children 3–9 | Compare the child discount against actual menus | Disney advertises savings of up to 20% on dining for kids with eligible 2027 family packages |
What changes in 2027?
The biggest change is choice. In 2026 Disney offers two plans. In 2027 it offers three: Quick-Service, Table-Service and Deluxe Table-Service. The new Deluxe Table-Service plan adds a second table-service meal per night while keeping one quick-service meal, one snack and the Resort-refillable mug.
The Quick-Service plan is basically the same structure in 2026 and 2027
The 2026 Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and 2027 Quick-Service Dining Plan each provide 2 quick-service meals and 1 snack per night of stay, plus a Resort-refillable drink mug for each Guest age 3 and older on the plan.
The 2026 Disney Dining Plan becomes the 2027 Table-Service structure
The core mix is 1 table-service meal, 1 quick-service meal and 1 snack per night, plus the Resort-refillable mug. The naming changes for 2027, but the basic meal-credit pattern remains familiar.
What does the 2027 Deluxe Table-Service plan add?
The 2027 Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan provides 2 table-service meals, 1 quick-service meal and 1 snack per night, plus the Resort-refillable mug. It is aimed at trips where sit-down dining is a major part of the itinerary rather than an occasional break.
Credits roll over during the stay, but not after checkout
Disney says meals and snacks can be redeemed at any time during the stay. Unused credits roll forward from day to day and expire at midnight on the day of checkout. They are nontransferable and have no cash value.
Adults can use an included meal beverage for alcohol at participating locations
Disney says Guests age 21 and older with valid identification may substitute an eligible beer, wine or cocktail for the included beverage with a qualifying meal. The exact available beverage choices depend on the location.
Gratuities are usually extra
Dining plans generally do not include gratuities. Disney lists limited exceptions including Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, Cinderella's Royal Table and Private Dining at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Parties of 6 or more are also subject to Disney's automatic gratuity rules.
Some meals use more than one table-service credit
Signature and certain special dining experiences can require more than one table-service credit. That matters much more on a plan with only one table-service meal per night. Always check the current participating-location details before assuming a reservation will cost one credit.
The 2026 child offer can materially change the math
For eligible 2026 packages, Disney currently offers a free dining plan for children ages 3 to 9 when the package includes a Disney Resorts Collection room and a dining plan for each Guest age 10 and older. Everyone in the same room must be on the same package, and the plan applies for the entire stay.
The child value proposition changes in 2027
For 2027, Disney advertises savings of up to 20% on dining for children ages 3 to 9 with an eligible package that includes a dining plan for the family. That is different from the 2026 free-child-plan offer, so do not carry 2026 assumptions into a 2027 trip.
How to decide whether the Dining Plan is worth it
Price out the way you would actually eat without the plan: how many table-service meals, how many quick-service meals, whether adults would choose eligible alcoholic beverages and whether the refillable mug has value at your resort. Then compare that behavior with the credits you are buying. Convenience can be worth something even when the math is close.
Who benefits most
The strongest fit is a family staying at a Disney Resort that already plans to eat in the same pattern as the plan, values prepayment and will use the included credits without forcing extra meals. The 2026 child offer can make that fit substantially stronger for eligible families.
Who should probably skip it
Skip or scrutinize the plan if you frequently share meals, eat off property, prefer snacks to full meals, dislike table-service reservations, expect to leave credits unused or would order differently just to maximize theoretical value.
Who I would buy it for
I would start with Quick-Service for a park-heavy trip that wants prepaid food without reservations. I would use the 1-table-service structure when one sit-down meal most days already sounds normal. I would only choose the 2027 Deluxe plan if dining is intentionally one of the main attractions of the trip.
